All beading supplies for classes are available in the store. No outside beads or supplies are allowed in the class.

Viking Knit Bracelet

The Viking knit chain is constructed by weaving silver wire around a wooden dowel rod and is completed by pulling the weave through a wooden draw plate. The style is based on the ancient patterns of Viking and Indian chains and is a precursor to the knitting we know today. This flexible chain is perfect worn alone or combined with beads.

Great with interchangeable clasps and beads! Learn the single and double weave, the techniques of completion and various uses for this chain.

Bezeling a Rivoli with SuperDuos

Encase a sparkling rivoli in a bezel of SuperDuo and seed beads. Use peyote stitch to surround the sparkling crystal and embellish with picots and crystals. Instructions will be provided for various sizes of rivolis. Previous beadweaving experience essential.

Rachel's Bows

Kumihimo - Reverse Spiral w/Focal Bead

You've made beaded Kumihimo bracelets before; now it's time to learn some exciting additions for your jewelry. Adding focal beads enhances the look of any bracelet or necklace, and we'll learn the techniques to add beads with small and large holes. In addition, we'll lend symmetry to the bracelet by reversing the spiral after the focal bead. These skills will open up endless creative possibilities for the Kumihimo enthusiast!

This is not an introductory class, and students should be able to construct an 8-strand beaded bracelet.

Melody has been designing jewelry for 20 years. She teaches at all the major bead shows, both nationally and internationally, including Bead & Button, BeadFest and the Tucson JOGS Show, as well as at numerous bead shops and bead societies. The author of three wirework books, Melody has articles and designs published in all the national beading and wirework. In addition, Melody will be bringing a lively trunk show of colorful beads, jewelry and findings.
